Doze Doesn't Work Face Up

I have the Galaxy S7 G930F. I've recently learned about Doze and found it hasn't been activating at all. I've also started to monitor it using GSam. I have a non-rooted device. The only way I have gotten Doze to work is with Greenify's Aggressive Doze and my phone has to be facing downwards. I have AOD on but after doing a ton of research, it seems like most people are able to have AOD on and it shouldn't be causing issues. Also, from experimenting it doesn't seem like I can get Doze running without Aggressive Doze.

Update: I just rooted my phone. I will also get the Xposed Installer so I can turn Greenify onto boost mode.
