Any help? 1.15hour screen time. Android is getting stuck on something....
In settings go to> display> screen resolution> I think it defaults to WQHD 2560x1440... change it to FHD. 1920x1080...WQHD will use more battery & you don't need it that high... you will get a amazing display in FHD.. NEXT, go to settings> performance mode> make sure it is set to "optimized" not gaming or high performance.

Forgot 3rd option... Go to settings> battery> tap the 3 does in upper right corner> tap advanced settings> make sure "app power monitor" is toggled on. That is where you will find the 'fast charging' option too. It is hidden here now, does not show in settings with Nougat.

Haven't yet gotten the Nougat update, but all of a sudden last night my phone went from 60% at 9PM to 0% at 4:30AM. I know that a number of apps were updated recently, so can't pinpoint any of them at this time. Even today, battery has drained faster than I'm used to. Android OS was at 37%, but not sure if it's the culprit. Was going to post a screenshot of last night's drain, but had my phone on the charger and when I picked it up to get the screenshot it went back on battery and the whole screen changed :-(. Going to keep an eye on things for a few days to see how it does. Anyone else experiencing anything recently? I normally wake up to about 35% battery, so it was quite a shock when I went to check my phone this AM and all was black, and it was at 0% when I put it on the charger.

For the 2nd night in a row, my S7 still running on M 6.0.1, went from 60% to 0% overnight. I was able to capture some screen shots this morning while it's on the charger. I'm not sure how to figure out which app might be causing this, or how to troubleshoot. Other than app updates, nothing has changed with my phone or usage prior to this starting to happen. The 'blip' in the battery % is from an interim charge I did to try to give it more to start the night with, something I've not normally had to do either. Phone is only 5 months old. I can't think that this is good for my battery to die so completely. I even turn the phone screen side down overnight to minimize the AOD. Advice welcome!

Forum moderators ... if my 2 posts should be in a new thread, please move them and start a new thread. Don't want to hijack this one, but also didn't want to start a new one if not needed. Thanks.

Re: Horrible Battery Life after update / Cache wipe seems to have helped

Still on M on my S7 ... yesterday at work noticed phone hot and battery had dropped to about 52% (this was before 4PM, unheard of in past experience). Android System at 41%. Got home and called US Cellular tech support. Ended up doing a cache wipe. Charged up to 100% before going to bed. Woke up this morning, and phone was at 91%. Very encouraging. Will continue to monitor. Cell standby was the top offender.

Yesterday my phone went from 100% at 7:30AM to 40% by 11AM. And was quite hot. Put it on the charger until 12:30 or so. At 3PM, decided to check things out. All was cool and still running at 95%. Decided to check for updates, and found that the update to N was available, so went ahead and plugged in and did the update. Might my erratic battery life over the past week have been related to N doing some things in the background in preparation for the update? Android System was always the culprit, and yesterday morning was running at 50%+. Going to keep an eye on things now that I'm on N.
