Insufficient storage problems on Galaxy Tab 3kids

My son's Galaxy tab 3 worked fine for over a year until one day it said it had insufficient storage space. We deleted all of his apps, cleared out almost all of his pictures/videos, but the error message stayed. I tried to clear the cache in google play, etc as directed by many websites, but nothing fixes it. I'm very frustrated! Please help!
