Rumor has it that Best Buy employees are saying September 3 US release date.

Yes it's officially out today. So far it can be purchased at best buy, B&N, T-mobile, and Sprint. Really surprised samsung has released the lte versions already. They aren't playing games anymore

I got an email from Best Buy this morning indicating it was available starting today and reminding me of their $100 off deal by trading in any working tablet. I'm tempted to bring in my 2012 Nexus 7 32GB but it still works great and I'm still happy with my Tab S 8.4 so I'm on the fence about it.

The BB near us just put out the S2's on display this morning. They didn't have the S1 on display any longer but did have it close by so I can see which I liked better. Also if they are doing a $100 off if you trade in an old tablet (kindle/nook excluded) towards a the S2 model.

I traded in my Kindle HD 8.9 and got $100 off ($399 for the 9.7 wifi 32GB) at my local Best Buy store yesterday (the 3rd), then skulked home like Gollum to play with my new toy.
