Golf navi app on gear s2 screen times out and I have to restart the round.

So I'm new to the gear s2 and the golf navi app. I start the app, everything is good. I play a shot, the screen times out. I have to start the app all over again. I changed the display to "always on", still closes the app. I think I just found my own answer but I'm now not currently golfing so I will ask anyway. Is it changing the "screen timeout " to a longer interval like 5 minutes? Doesn't appear to work still. Maybe a flaw in the app?

I used Golf Navi this past week and the same thing happens to me. After selecting the course there is an option to be in battery saving mode, if that is selected it appears the app closes, I think its a bug. If you don't select the battery saving mode it works fine and when the screen times out just flick the wrist and the hole you were playing shows up. A normal 18 hole round will use up about 75-80% of the battery.
