I am still on the beta version of 8.1 I see the update, but I will ignore it until this issue is fixed... I had a friend who upgraded and had his data wiped in the process, so I heard first thing this AM.

I have seen the kindle app just go all black while reading (I use white text on black) - Doing anything like going to the home screen and back seems to fix it. I have also seen the browser flash the previous screen / site when reopening it.

Downloaded the beta for O last night. So far so good. It seems stable for this early on, but that might just mean that the big changes are coming later. The PIP for YouTube is YouTube Red only, so I have not seen that work. Otherwise, no real issue.

In general the Pixel is not great where the signal is weak, it sounds like that is where you are. I can connect from my office in certain locations, but any movement or anything can make it disconnect (far corners of the house)... I can say that my other devices can just barely stay connected in...

It is questionable whether it has improved, but I can say that it hasn't gotten worse for me. Are you seeing disconnects, drops, or not being connected after the tablet wakes up? I see it being stubborn sometimes to change networks or connect after a long sleep

I am seeing improved WiFi performance in my worst coverage location. I don't have measurements in a fixed position, but anecdotally around 5-10 dbm improvement to just bring it up to usable from always disconnects. We'll see if it continues

I think you are referring to something I have as well. The notification sounds, but is cut short sometimes.

I had not thought about skins - I put the Zagg glass on the front.

Are you finding that the Herringbone back helps the grip, or the tendency to slip out of the hand?

Just moved over from the Moto X, and I love the phone. I find it big and slippery, and since I am trying to use the phone without a case I am looking for the best way to improve some grip. I think the leather or nylon backs might help. A lightweight bumper might help, but I would prefer not to...

As mentioned, I would try a factory reset. Also, there is an issue when restarting while plugged in that causes the phone to optimize everything.

I don't think it makes a difference. I was using Art and it still optimizes the apps before you can use it. In fact there is a bug where if you reboot while plugged in it will optimize the apps again!

Is it just me or is there an issue with dismissing the old style (B&W) alerts in 5.1 I swipe left or right, but they come back. They seem to persist until I dismiss the new alert? is there a way for them to co-exist? The new alert is the card that shows up if I swipe up then touch the left...
