I stopped by our local mall today and there was a Sprint kiosk there. I asked the sales rep if they had any GS3s and he said they aren;'t for sale until Sunday. He said they didn't even have any display models to show. I walked away but came back a little later and another sales guy came up to...
I was at a Sprint Service Store the other day to have my phone fixed and the tech there told me that a Wimax radio can be converted to LTE with only a software update. If that's the case, then my Samsung
Epic is an LTE phone. Make sense?
I wonder if the Nexus Prime will have a smaller footprint since the Prime reportedly won't have capacitive buttons and that space can be now used for screen real estate.
Good point.
I get my upgrade in January. By then the Prime will be out so I will have the luxury to compare them side by side. But from what I have heard, I think I would have waited anyway. I like the idea of the Prime having better resolution and a HD screen and that there is a good chance it...
So with the Galaxy S 2 coming out on all carriers and then possibly the Nexus coming out on all carriers, how much do you think Android will chip into Apple's share of the pie then???? :) It could get interesting, especially if you have a lot of Apple stock.
This supposedly has the new version (4.0 I think) of Touch Wiz, which they say works like a charm. I would think it would also upgrade to ICS easily enough.
If you look at the thread about the Prime, the word on the street seems to be the next Nexus will be on all the carriers at once like the Galaxy. Google/Sammy really want to overwhelm the Iphone with mucho choice.
Re: Why the SGS2 over the Nexus Prime?????
Well from what I read about the new Nexus, it will have better specs than the SGS2 by quite a bit. But if the Nexus doesn't have support for an SD card, then that is a deal breaker and I stick with the SGS2. I like to have my music library on the phone...
So I was really sold on replacing my Samsung Epic with the new Samsung Within which comes out in a month or so. Then I start reading about the new Nexus Prime which is due out a couple months later as the first Ice Cream Sandwich phone with much better specs (i.e. better resolution and a SAmoled...
Re: Why is everyone excited about this phone? Do you have an EPI
Doesn't the GS2 also have HDMI out. If so, that is another huge difference. Also, there is a video on Youtube where they compare the GS2 GPS to one of the newer high end HTCs. The HTC got its ass handed to it.
My wifi toggle doesn't work half the time either and it doesn't help to go into wifi settings. I usually have to end up rebooting. Between that and the severe lag when extending the keyboard, I am about to do a hard reset. Both very annoying.
