    GPS Accuracy issues

I'm hoping all the rumors are off base just to make the actual thing more impressive when it actually drops. I can't see Google dropping the ball THAT badly. But, I can't imagine Apple and Samsung sucking at running watches so badly, either.

    GPS Accuracy issues

Well, I actually DID get some good news tonight. When I returned the watch to the store, the manager told me that while I did have to pay the $40 restock fee, the $35 activation fee does get returned to me! So, I'm only out $40. Not perfect, but a lot better. Now, hoping the Pixel watch is a...

    GPS Accuracy issues

No, this was a really good deal that T-Mo offered. Amounted to only about $6 month ($149 total) as long as I kept the watch line (another $10 per month) open. I really am disappointed because I definitely need something with LTE connectivity but at this point, I'd be paying $16 per month and...

    GPS Accuracy issues

Well, after a week, I'm coming to the conclusion that this watch is not going to be the one for me. As a smartwatch, it's quite fabulous. But, I didn't buy it for that. I need it to be at least a decent running watch and the GPS is so,so, SO bad that it simply cannot function as such. The...

Mine is LTE. Could explain why I'm not seeing one.

Can someone explain to me how AOD works for the watch? It's not doing what it says it should do.

So, apparently if I have the "Raise Wrist to Wake" setting on (which I do when I'm wearing it as a regular watch), it overrides the AOD setting. If I want the display to be continuously on during my workout, I have to change BOTH the AOD setting to on AND the "Raise Wrist" setting to off.

Can someone explain to me how AOD works for the watch? It's not doing what it says it should do.

If I go to do a workout using Samsung Health, I go to Exercises > Choose Workout > Running (for example). If I then tap Settings and scroll to the bottom of that, it says: "Turn on Always On Display on the Quick panel to keep the screen on during your workout." What I want it to do is keep the...

    GPS Accuracy issues

I received no update, and I just checked to make sure I am on current software. TBH, the GPS tracking is god-awful. I mean, horrid. I run on a paved rail-trail, so you can't really get much more of a straight line than that, and my route looks like a drunken cat, sometimes 20 to 30 feet off...

    GPS Accuracy issues

Thanks! I went out for a 1.75 mile walk yesterday. When I got done, I remeasured the walk using both the route-creator in Map My Run and the measure distance tool in Google Maps. Both of them verified that it was indeed exactly 1.75 miles. Just like you, LTE-watch only (no phone). I had the...

Very disappointed by the options for running/cycling

Ok, this gets even stranger. Just after I replied to you, I went back in to the workout to check something. Just for fun,I got the three dots in the corner and guess what? The export function is there! Tried it how many times before but now it's there. SMH

Very disappointed by the options for running/cycling

Thanks. I tested it today with a 1.75 mile walk. It sent it to Strava with no problem. The only strange thing was, Strava got the same data and said it was a 1.78 mile walk! I'm guessing they took all those data points and connected the dots using their own algorithms and smoothing and got a...

A question for runners: why can't I set my "Auto Lap" to anything less than .4 miles?

Talk about making no sense to me! When I am running, I like to be notified every quarter-mile. (In a perfect world, I'd like to know distance and pace, but that's another discussion.) In the Samsung Health app, I can turn on a notification to do so, called "Auto Lap". However, in the running...

    GPS Accuracy issues

A couple questions. First, are you using just your watch, not connected to your phone while walking? Second, you are using Samsung Health to record your walk/run; are you using it to view your data as well, or are you having it sent somewhere (e.g., Strava)? I am getting closer to resolving...

Very disappointed by the options for running/cycling

Actually, I just found it. It works the direction we want it to. I just went out and did a 1-minute walk using Samsung Health. By the time I got back in and opened up my Strava account on my PC, it was there!!! Thanks so much for helping me find this. I truly appreciate your time!

Very disappointed by the options for running/cycling

I'm in the US, same exact version. Help me out, here. I did not know about the "Connected Services" and don't know exactly what that will do for me. I checked and saw that it was not turned on, so I gave it all the permissions, but... will this take Samsung Health data (workouts) and send...

Very disappointed by the options for running/cycling

It's been removed. Many (MANY!) people on the forums are like me, a little p*ssed by this move on Samsung's part. Some of them have even tried reverting to an older version of the Health app, but having no success. I'm looking right at a walk I took tonight just to test out some things and...

Getting calendar notifications and don't want them

I happened upon an article last night that was written by Joe Fedewa. He showed how to basically disable every piece of Samsung Calendar on your phone (since you can't actually uninstall it). I did all of those steps and today, got zero notifications! I think he solved it! Thanks, again!!!

Very disappointed by the options for running/cycling

So, I have reached a point in my life where I want LTE connectivity while I'm out on long runs by myself. Purchased the GW5, 44mm last Friday and have pretty much figured out how to set it up the way I want it. As far as the smartwatch features are concerned, I'm pretty impressed by it. Where...

    Instant Screen Lock

The op problem was fixed by you suggesting the watch wasn't snug enough. As for rjack22, that's not at all what she said. She said she had to use the pin to unlock it after it was on the charger all night. I don't see where she mentioned that she had to unlock it each time?

    Instant Screen Lock

I have to enter a pin once when I first put my watch on. Then, when I use Samsung Pay, it does not require me to enter a PIN. I simply open Pay, hold down the BACK key for one second, and it's ready for use.
