This maybe a dumb question :)
Do you have to use the LTE part of the tablet? It does wifi, so if I get one can I just turn off LTE and not tie it to my wireless account?

I do not know if it requires registration with your wireless provider or not.

thx

If you don't want or need LTE, you can just turn it off and use Wi-Fi, or nothing at all.

Yeah, you don't have to use a Sim at all, you can turn those radios off and treat it like a WiFi tablet with more storage.

One thing not covered here is if you bought the 32GB LTE version and got a $100 discount for ATT service, you WILL have to activate the service on your account, otherwise you have to (at least) pay them back the $100. Not sure what the ETF is, since the discount was only $100.

Ordering it through Amazon, I got the $100 right off the price, instead of waiting for a bill credit in 90 days from AT&T. (or, do I get both?)

Should have my Shield today. :)
