Chrome back button not returning to previous position

Phone is a galaxy s5 viewing this forum in mobile mode, not desktop.

I noticed it first when browsing this forum that going back to a previous page almost always goes back to the previous page top. It doesn't matter if I used the chrome back button or the S5 back button.

Most websites return to previous position when going back, but I notice it's consistently going back to top of page on androidcentral.com. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it to always go back to previous position?

Not sure I've ever encountered this... but to be clear, you're viewing the mobile forums template, not the full desktop version, correct?

I'm using Chrome on the S5 which defaults to the mobile version. I've tried clearing cache several times with no change. I've confirmed this same behavior on two separate iphone 4s using safari, and my wife's S5. So I'm pretty confident it's not just me.

It's very strange, when I do the back button it'll look like it's gone back to the previous position, but then it'll jump immediately back to the top of the page. It does this every time now and I'm almost to the point of abandoning this site because it's so irritating.

One more question... are you talking about the mobile site for the forums, or the blogs?

i gave up on chrome and installed tapatalk to browse this forum. at least tapatalk allows me to read other forums.
