Another Gingerbread build has leaked out, this time around the Samsung Epic 4G gets updated to EF02 and the reports thus far have been looking good. The verdict on whether or not this build can be rooted or not is still out so keep that in mind before you dive in, you may wish to hold out until some more feedback is gathered.

You will also need to fire up Odin in order to load so, like always exercise caution and follow the instructions. You can hit the source link for the full details and make sure you leave some comments here and in the forums on how things are working should you decide to load this one up.

Edit: for rooting instructions and discussion, please see this thread.

CWM recovery and root are possible. First you have to odin the tar. After reboot boot back into download mode and odin the tar for CWM recovery. After yet another reboot power down the phone and use the 3 finger reboot method to flash the su.zip in CWM recovery.
Hotfile.com: One click file hosting: D700EF02.rar unrar and odin
http://drockstar.devphone.org/EpicTar/cwm3.1.0.1.purple.tar.md5 odin this for CWM recovery
http://www.holyliving****.com/Stuff/su.zip flash in CWM recovery for root. Due to bad word filtering you will need to type in the explitive "f" word where the asterisks are.

Can I ask what you were trying to flash in CWM?

Please use the following link for all future posts/questions concerning the Gingerbread EF02 leak.

[ODIN] Gingerbread EF02 Leak Available with Root Instructions

The cme tar bricked my device when I tried odining it. You gotta be careful what's selected in the new odin before you click start. I as ableto recover my device but others had to get theirs swapped out. Mine originally wouldn't go into download mode but I left it with the battery out for 30 minutes and then tried again and got it to work.
