Newbie here...hello all, i will be traveling to the Dominican republic next week, I do have a android that takes a sim card that i have used there before. But i also have a galaxy that i would like to use there instead, is it possible to have this phone activated on the local cdma network down there. the providers are CLARO and VIVA. thanks for your help/advice

Likely the CDMA networks down there 1) won't use the same frequencies as Sprint and 2) won't activate phones that they don't sell.

Just bring your GSM phone and put a local SIM in :)

My sprint phone didn't work when I was in DR at all, but this was a few years ago. Things may have changed.
