Is there a way to get my phone back to normal?

I rooted my phone and it was fine, but then I did the update to 4.3 (not a good idea) and now it's sort of kind of rooted but kind of not. Now it's asking me to update to 4.4, and I'd really like to do it from an unrooted phone to hopefully get rid of small issues that have been happening since updating and ruining the root.

Help, please?
