International calling options

Okay so I will be traveling out of the country for about a week, and I'm trying to figure out what is my best/least expensive option for phone and data services if any? I currently have the HTC Evo 4g lte on the Sprint network. Not sure if this phone is even internationally capable and if it is I want to avoid being surprised by outrageous prices.

Once you get to whatever country you will be in just get a tmo prepaid. It's the cheapest option.
