In the greater scheme of things...

Hi all!
Something has been driving me nuts about my new Captivate and I couldn't begin to know what words to use for a search... LOL!

If you are looking at your Captivate, just to the left of the the speaker, there are two small rectangular windows, that don't appear to have any use. I thought maybe they were for small LED's, but haven't noticed them ever lighting up... I looked in the user manual with no mention of these little windows.

Granted, it's most likely a silly question, that really doesn't matter... but its driving me crazy!

Does anyone know what these little windows are for???

Pretty sure those are sensors that turn the screen off while the phone is to your ear during a phone call. Also they probably are for the auto brightness for the screen (if enabled).
