rooted marshmallow smartswitch

hi there guys.. very newbie.. so sorry for the question..

did an upgrade, via root, yesterday from 4.3 to marshamallow.. did the smartswitch backup of contacts etc beforehand..

upgrade went fine.. but now smartswitch isn't recognising device..

asked this question and a kind person answered saying that smartswitch doesn't recognise rooted devices..

therefore my question is, is there a way i can get my backed up data, emails, contacts etc onto my upgraded note 2?

hopefully won't upset you.. but is there a sort of a step by step guide of this somewhere?

i had backed up my contacts etc via smartswitch onto my mac, before i did the root upgrade..

i would like to put at least the contacts back into my upgraded marshamallow..

is this possible?

Hmm when it comes to Macs, I know very little although a quick search reveals that firmware cannot be flashed using Odin on a Mac. However you could set up Windows as a virtual device to use Odin. Remember you must use the exact FW for your device.

seems a bit over my skill level unfortunately..

seems really strange, admittedly, to a newbie to this world.. that it would be so complicated to install my existing contacts via computer..

It's a lot of hassle but as I mentioned your contacts should be inside your google account.

i saved them into my phone.. only had like 8 numbers there.. schoolboy error i guess..

is there a way to look at my contacts on the mac and then i just put them in manually?

Log in to your Google account on your mac and you should be able to view your contacts. I don't know how to manually do it but when you log in to your Google account using your phone and sync they should restore automatically
