How to root?

I'm new to the Android and really want to root my phone. I have a AT&T Samsung S3 SGH I747

Does anyone have the steps to root this device and have the ability to put Jelly Bean on it? I used to be a iPhone user and would jailbreak them all day long.

I couldn't tell you that. I have a sprint phone. How did the rooting go for you?

Rooting seemed to go well. Now would like to check out how to add the different roms but would like a stable one..

I use goomanager for Roms you can find it in the app store. There are thousands of videos on YouTube to look at, thats where I get all my information. Cm10 nightly 10/27/2012 seems to be stable and everything thing is working
