cant flash rom

ok im a total noob wen it comes to this stuff but i got my galaxy s3 rooted just fine and everything now im having a hard time getting a rom on it i have tried more than one and i keep getting errors idk wat else to do i have followed like 10 different peoples steps exactly and im out of guesses at this point PLEASE HELP

Im trying to flash aokp milestone 1 on my sgh-i747 and after deleting, wipe cashe, wipe dalvik cashe, format data, when I go to install the aokp zip it starts install then immediately stops... and says install aborted- symlinks failure.. error on sdcard/download/aokp??? I've been trying everything even downloaded other aokp rom from xda dwvelopers

I usually do not install ROMs from the SD Card. Do it from the external SD card. The error you are describing sounds more like download or transfer corruption. If using IE try FireFox etc. If sending the ROM to the phone via a cable with the external SD card in the device try removing it and putting it directly into a PC.
