Email Help???

Hey guys i cant for the life of me figure out why i cant sing into my mail box. Whwn im at the home page i tap (Mail) an it takes me to (choose a mail provider) one of the them says (microsoft exhange activesync) an the other says(other(pop3/map)) i then click on one or the other an enter my sbcglobal.net stuff an nothing i then try my new Gmail stuff an nothing. its says(erro faild to connect to exhange server.please check exhange server settings)
how do i check this?im so lost an im sure its supper easy im just not a computer wizz thanks for any help guys

also what does the (server address)mean?
the (domain name)???

I think (gmail.com/sbcglobal.net) right?

If you are on exchange, it would be the domain name of your company.Ask you It guy.

My work exchange like this:
Server name: MX.companyname.com
Domain: companyname

user id:XXXXX
Paswrd: XXXX


Your gmail should be set up automatically just by signing in with your user Id.

ok that helps thanks, now is is there a way to get my yahhoo mail on this phone (sbcglobal.net)? ive tried an filled it out this way but still nothing.
my Gmail works fine the way it should but i still have my other that i have to check at work on the PC
