voicemail and KitKat

Att messages used to download the voicemail but it does not anymore. I don't have it as default and don't want it to be the default. Anyway to get voicemail to DL again?

This might be a tad off topic but I was having issues with my note 3 and att voicemail so I switched to youmail and have loved it ever since and not looked back. I have no issues at all with youmail and there are several options that youmail has that att visual voicemail does not plus you can upgrade and get several options if you feel like paying for them.
Sorry for posting and not answering your question.... Just wanted to give you another option if you wanted to consider going that route.
