Android 6.0.1 / Samsung Galaxy J3 V - cannot restore/move emails sent to Trash folder

A

AC Question

Using the device's Email app (Verizon's Samsung Galaxy J3 V, Android 6.0.1), a webmail account was created, using the automatic settings -- no opportunity to set it up manually given.

Problem: Emails deleted, therefore sent to the Trash folder, cannot be restored or moved to any other folder. When opening up the email in the Trash folder, the Reply, Reply all and Forward icons at the bottom are grayed out; the More icon in the upper-R only offers "Mark as Unread".

Is this a "feature" of Marshmallow 6.0.1 email or a bug? Can this behavior be changed or is there a workaround?

Thanks for any help!
