Problem is you have to be rooted for this. I would rather hunt down the apk and sideload it.

Nothing wrong with rooting I just don't currently have a need to do it.

There's a number of other third party browsers that are just as good. Have you tried anything else besides stock and Chrome?

Yes, I've tried everything.
I like the Dolphin browser, but it is nearly unusable with KitKat in my N5 and N7.

And there is no apk. So you either do this, or stay with what you got.
So far the only thing I'm missing is the ability to save a page. Sync bookmarks works just fine and that is the most important thing to me.

what about text wrap? and I'm with you. I've been leaving the 4.4 update hanging on my n7 over breaking the browser. I can't stand chrome. fire fox doesn't wrap text correctly. everything else is kinda crap.
