Computer wont open images in SD card (and eventually crashes), opens fine in phone paste.

As per title, when i open dcim paste to put some images on my computer, it never fully loads my images, instead i get an indefinite time of loading (cannot even open the ones that show) and then stops responding.

im using MTP and Samsung galaxy s4.
