I thought it worked like Google play store in that you could remove the updates & reinstall them.

Update: Got an app not installed error when trying to do the update.
No you can uninstall the update it's from the galaxy Store, only can turn Auto update off. Did you try a newer version from yours from APK mirror? Try only one version higher

Yes I did the newest one and got the error. I have turned off auto updates prior to trying to making the update attempt. I also enabled installations from other sources.

Some packages allow you but try the APK mirror installer see if it works that way

No it's in same area where you download the APK , try different version write yours down and choose 1 above it but download ML extractor it helps for android version 14 and split apps bundle
I have only the one version that is the latest version for me to choose from. This the only one that I tried. I can try earlier models if you think that may help.Screenshot_20240415_125734_Samsung Internet.jpg
