Deleting unsaved phone numbers

I dialled a number and it was saved into memory, so when I dialled it again, it popped up as soon as I dialled the first 3 numbers. I pressed and held the number to delete it and it was deleted. Why did it come back, when I never dialled it again?

Try going in to your contacts and make sure it is not saved in there.
