Facebook Messenger video calls no longer ring

[Android Central Question]

My FB messenger used to work great, now when I get video calls it just shows me that I missed the call but doesn't ring when it comes in. I can call out fine
Samsung Ultra 22 phone
All sounds are on, notifications are on, cleared cache, I think this happened with the last update to the phone

Welcome to Android Central! Is the app "battery optimized" in system settings? If so, try changing it to Unrestricted, in case the system is aggressively killing the app in the background, thus preventing it from notifying you properly when it does receive a call.

Can reset the app by clearing data then force stop it.

Welcome to Android Central! My husband has encountered this issue as well. Have you tried rebooting your phone just to see if it's a glitch? Any updates pending for Messenger?
