Google maps and Waze

Can Google maps and Waze run concurrently by toggling back and forth on the Pixel 3. Thanks.

Yup, they can both run at the same time. Only time they'll be restricted is when using Android Auto (then, only one can be active at a time).

Great. I've been wanting to try it Google maps has performed perfectly for me for the last few years, but I've been reluctant to try something new. Does anyone out there that could explain any warts, surprises that I should beware of with Waze?

You're correct but I've had Waze voice running in the background at the same time on AA. Didn't do it on purpose.

Yes if you start Waze on AA and then switch to Google maps, Waze will run in the background. You will hear Waze continue on the trip unless you stop that trip.

I run them both all the time, usually with Waze in the background. Occasionally I'll run them split screen on my 3XL, but it's usually Maps on top.

Can you use the Assistant in Waze like you can in Maps.. I. E. ETA, Next turn.. Thanks.
