Android Central Question

I just replaced my older Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10" tablet with a new Lenovo Tab M10 Plus tablet (running Android 12). The default Qboard keyboard app is not nearly as good as the one on my old Samsung.

Specifically, the old Samsung keyboard has the following nifty features:

1. Del button in addition to a backspace button.
2. Cursor left and right arrow buttons to move the cursor to the exact desired spot.
3. Dual-function QWERTY keys with an assortment of special characters available with a long-push.
4. Separate, always visible number row.

Is there any way to get that old keyboard app loaded onto my new tablet?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Just a short trip down Google search tells me you can download the APK from somewhere reputable and install. Mixed reviews though. Some people have no luck and some have success.

Welcome to Android Central! You know that Gboard can do most of those things too, or has alternative solutions, right? All except the Del key option.

You can move the cursor by pressing and holding Space Bar, then swiping left or right.

In the Gboard settings under Preferences, you can turn on Long Press for Symbols, which will bring up symbol options associated with that character.

Also in the Preferences menu, you can toggle on Number Row.
