How to fix quick Battery drain on water damaged device

[Android Central Question]

Hi, when I was hiking in the mountains it started raining. Unfortunately water got into my Huawei Nova 2 and shortly disabled my camera and cell reception (my phone was working though). I quickly turned it off and put it in a bag of rice (I know now that this wasn't the smartest decision). After 24h I took out my phone which now was surprisingly working. I discovered that the phone was overheating, yet this quickly passed. A day after, I am now seeing that my phone's battery is losing power rapidly. So I am asking now if there is a way of fixing or enlarging the lifespan of my device. I wanted to open my phone, yet this is very difficult with my device and I don't have the tools to do so. Any repairs, temporary or otherwise, may be short-lived, since there may be ongoing water damage.
I don't think that there are any quick fixes.

Welcome to Android Central! If the battery was damaged, then you'd need to get the battery replaced.
