Mother's LG Optimus G Pro has current call bug.

My mother got her first smart phone almost 2 years ago and this past year she has been telling me the phone does some funny stuff when she tries to make a phone call. I didn't think it was any real problem and maybe she was just having a hard time but I saw it today. Sometimes when she tries to make a phone call the phone's dial screen will show a loading wheel and then just go back to the contacts menu or other menu she was previously on. The phone will make the call but the active call screen won't show so she can't hang up or enter numbers if she were to need to. It's as if the call isn't going at all. Restarting the entire phone has seemed to fix it but I would like a real fix. The software is updated according to AT&T's servers. The model is LG-E980
