I am having trouble getting it to boot.
When I turn it on it shows the following message:
"Your device has failed verification and may not work properly
To learn more, visit: motorola.com/unlockbootloader
Id: N/A
Your device will boot in 5 seconds"
I have tried rebooting it by holding down the power button + volume down key to get to the boot options which I can do successfully. None of the options there work. Except for Power Off. Any other option I select it goes back to that screen with the error message.
These are the details of the phone if that helps:
AF Fastboot Flash Node (Secure)

Console (NULL): null

oem _locked

I have it plugged it at the moment charging. I went to that address in the error message and it warns UNLOCKING YOUR BOOTLOADER COULD IMPACT YOUR DEVICE (which means it could brick the phone so I won't be doing that). Is there another way to restore the phone to factory settings? I have already used the function on the phone to do that when I factory reset it. But that doesn't work. This was when I could boot the phone and load the OS.
Its been sitting in a draw for about 2 years now. I go to turn it on to make sure it still works and this is the dilemma its stuck in.
This is the model of the phone and details:

Mine is the montana XT1797 variant which isn't listed on there but I'm guessing it has the same base functionality?
