My Alcatel Android 10 phone has started asking me if I want to use Launcher by default or Kids Mode.

I have never set up kids mode. I always choose "Launcher always" but it always asks again later. Any ideas ?

Kids mode is listed but can't disable it (greyed out). Will look at wellbeing shortly. Thanks for info.

Since disabling notifications and clearing cache, etc , no more occurrences of the launcher message !

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have any 3rd party "RAM booster" or battery saver apps installed? If so, uninstall them and see if the problem persists.

Go to Settings>Apps and tap Menu>Show System. Can you find a Kids Mode system app there? If so, can you Disable it?

Yes. In many cases uninstalling updates for Digital Wellbeing fixed the issue.

Found it but Disable greyed out. Tried to find way of uninstalling but failed. Likewise with Digital Wellbeing. Emptied data and cache for DW. How do you disable updates?

It could be slightly different depending on your brand and Android version but try in Settings - Apps - select Digital Wellbeing and tap the three dots top right.

The 3 dots disappear once I select any specific app. Then left with app settings like Disable, force stop, permissions, storage etc.

When u go to settings>apps>digital wellbeing tap>upper right corner tap uninstall update

Dont open the app afterwards leave it like that

That's strange. In the Digital Wellbeing screen scroll all the way down and see what shows up in App details, if Play Store then tap it and try from there.
