my smartphone is rooted, but i didnt do it

so im currently using a samsung s5 model SM-G900F.
i didnt root my device but when i installed a bank app it said my device is rooted. so i did some reading online and did a root check and the rootchecker app confirmed that my device is rooted. how is that posiible when not until now i had no idea about rooting

I'm with the others. I'm guessing you bought this used and the last owner rooted it. Rooting is a complex process and doesn't just randomly happen.

Even if you bought this "new," I'm still guessing that wasn't from an authorized retailer. Shady online sellers are good at buying used/refurbished phones, repackaging them, and selling as "new." More than once I've seen phones bought like this come rooted, and that is a major security concern.
