New camera app

The new Moto camera app arrived and it is a big improvement. Much easier to switch between the dual rear cameras and overall cleaner UI. The new app also seems a bit faster which is welcome. Camera speed is probably the single biggest gripe I have with the X4.

Yep, from what I read the original Moto Z series and the Moto X4 are all getting the Moto Camera 2018 app update. Nice!

I used it around NYC yesterday and can confirm it is significantly faster than the old camera app. speed ranges from essentially instant to tiny delay. it's fast enough now I wouldn't think twice about the shutter lag if I just bought the phone and didn't experience the old app.

interestingly the landmark recognition mode was dropped. no loss. it didn't really work to begin with.

The text recognition is pretty good. I used it on a couple of business cards with no mistakes.
