My Husband just upgraded to a Galaxy S3 from an iPhone 4.

So far we are loving the phone!!! I mean it's a beauty! I can't wait until July when I trade in my iPhone for the Galaxy S4!

Here's the issue, H suffered a traumatic brain injury a few years ago, and so it takes him a while to get used to doing something differently. He's actually handled the S3 pretty well. The only thing he's having trouble with is notifications of missed calls and text. He's used to having it on his locked screen, and hasn't been able to get used to seeing it on the notification bar. I know I can DL an app to do this, but I wanted to hear from others which is best in terms of mimicking the iPhone (gosh, I feel dirty saying that here!).

I've looked at Lock Screen Notifications by Devious https://forums.androidcentral.com/e.../store/apps/d...allpaper&hl=en&token=Im_TeZuk, and WidgetLocker https://forums.androidcentral.com/e.../store/apps/d...w.widgetlocker&token=SKH2bhf7, along with a few more. I guess I am a little overwhelmed with the options.

I don't mind paying for an app, I just want to make sure I get the right one.

Any help you guys can give me, would be greatly appreciated! This forum has been a lifesaver! I swear I searched for past posts, but I just couldn't get a clear answer for them.

You may want to fiddle around with the stock Lock screen options to be sure that it doesn't already provide the capability that you're looking for.

Start off by enabling 'With swipe lock', then select 'Lock screen options' uploadfromtaptalk1367564641354.jpgOn the next screen turn 'Shortcuts' on, then actually press on the 'Shortcuts' text.uploadfromtaptalk1367565002230.jpgFinally, on the next screen, put whatever shortcuts you want to show up on the Lock screen. uploadfromtaptalk1367565098695.jpgSent from my rooted, debloated, deodexed Sinclair ZX-80 running CM -0.001 using Tapatalk 2

Thank you everyone for the suggestions!!!

GSDer, I am going to check those settings. Thanks for the screen shots, it makes it easier.

If that doesn't work then I will try a few apps as Jaguarr suggested (including the Evil Monkey's suggestion). meyerweb, thanks for the heads up on the refunds!

Jaguarr, I have read that thread, it's very informative. I think most of what we have done thus far has come from the links within that thread! :)

One other thought: With the launcher program Nova ( https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...sw.launcher&feature=nav_result&token=TjqNKWDL ) you can set up global badge notifications. (Badge notifications are a number that shows up overlayed on the program icon, telling you how many unread emails, texts, etc.) you have for that app. You might need the pay version of the app for this to work, but it's only a few dollars.

Combine that with the ability to have icons on the lock screen, and I think the icons on the lock screen would show the unread count. See this post for how to set it up:

Here's a follow up to the previous screenshots that I posted, showing the Lock screen with badge notifications on some of the icons. I do have Nova, and I've enabled unread counts in the Launcher but not specifically anything for the Lock screen so I don't know offhand if that's the reason these counts are showing up.uploadfromtaptalk1367730907459.jpgSent from my rooted, debloated, deodexed Sinclair ZX-80 running CM -0.001 using Tapatalk 2
