Which ones are bloatware and can be removed? Will I need to root my phone to remove them? Is there any advantage of doing this?

Welcome to Android Central! Depending on which carrier you have you can root and remove all their bloatware if you want to. I have Verizon and personally the apps does not bother me. I use to root however I stop rooting. Anything that you need you will find it right here on Ac. Enjoy!

I would download music from amazon rather than Google play store. Music you download from the play store only plays on the Google music player where as music downloaded from other sources such as amazon will play on any music player app. Also, since you're new to android don't worry about bloat ware and rooting. Bloat ware can be disabled and if you're not sure what you're doing you could mess up your phone from rooting. Hope this helps. ..enjoy your new phone!
