I am following Jerry's rooting guide for the Hero (http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...-sprint-hero-condensed-easy-read-version.html) and I am on step 6. The guide states that I should be seeing

You should see the following inside your command window:
Quote:
$ /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
[+] Using newer pope_inode_info layout
Opening: /proc/857/fd/3
SUCCESS: Enjoy the shell.

However, I see what looks like something is being killed. This is the part that confuses me. (Image for clarity http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/6010/rootingproblemadbshelli.png)

$ /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
/data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
[1] Killed /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
$

I don't have experience programming, so I don't know what could be happening here. I sent Gbhil (Jerry) a message a few weeks ago, but he hasn't responded.

Has anyone seen this? I can't seem to get past this. I've searched, but have found nothing.

Additional Info:
I have HTC Sync installed, the ADB driver wouldn't install from the sdk usbdriver folder
The phone is in charge only mode
Debugging mode is on

If your already running 2.1 then it won't work you have to follow the guide i have posted in the hacks section.
