screen dims during speakerphone call

I'm having a wierd issue that I haven't quite figured out yet...

basically, if I'm on a call using speakerphone, and I'm on long enough for the screen to dim, I am unable to turn the screen back on to hang up. Usually it takes the other person hanging up to unlock it.

Naturally, when I tried to reproduce the issue by calling my phone from the land line I couldn't get it to happen -- anyone else experience anything wierd like this?

have you tried the button on the top of the phone? i've only used the speakerphone once, but iirc, i used that to wake the screen back up

when i notice the issue, the button on the top doesn't ever work.

however, when i try to reproduce it with the land line it works just fine -- maybe i'm just nuts.
