Sim contacts showing when dialing

When i open the phone app and start typing on the keypad for the smart dialer. it brings up duplicates of all contacts. a sim instance and a phone one

in people i have it set to only display phone contacts.
any way to change this or delete sim contacts

It's been a while since I was on a stock rom, but if I recall correctly I wasn't able to disable the viewing of sim contacts by unchecking the box either. You might try a re-boot, but if that doesn't work, what I did was view ONLY sim contacts, then in menu there was a delete option as well as check boxes by each contact...select them all, and hit delete. go back to your normal contacts view with no sim contacts to clutter it up. took about 2 minutes I think to select all my contacts (125 or so...)
