I haven't used this package personally, but if it doesn't include a .pit file in the download then it is not needed. So what I'm saying is then take your .tar file if that is all thats included and place that in the PDA slot and your good to go.

.pit file was used in Eclair 2.1 (DI18) restore but wasn't used in EB13 and the package I helped with for EC05 that Chris originally based this off of.

basically a pit file is just a partition table, if your using a md5 tar that is setup correctly, you dont need it. you can always use the victory pit that comes with most odin downloads, or i can show you how to make one from your phone in just a few seconds...

it will lockup seemingly when verifying the md5 for a few mins on some machines... just let it sit and dont hit anything..

the runtime error occurred again and i got an error message
when i press okay it exits out of odin automatically
should i just leave the error message and wait for a few minutes?

Edit: if this helps at all, the runtime error occurs when it says "Enter CS for MD5"
Also, i tried waiting and nothing happens

rename it and take the .md5 off and use a pit file then..

but i have no idea why youre having trouble with the md5, i dont think anyone is..

it was done in cygwin

md5sum -t filename.tar >> filename.tar
mv filename.tar filename.tar.md5

you can use the same pit file from di18 if you want, or create it it doesnt matter an epic pit file is universal.

just rename it by taking the .md5 off the endm and it should stop trying to calculate the md5

It should still go into download mode.. first try downloading a new odin.. place it in a new directory.

Then try odining without a battery in your phone.
