one thing I really enjoyed about my Gnex when it still had ICS was the beautiful, multicolored swirling patterns of rectangles this model used on power-up. I had meant to use my tablet to record the video of that pattern before I upgraded to JellyBean but forgot to in all the excitement of finally getting the OTA update.

Is that pattern available as a short video clip anywhere, or as a screen-saver? It looks so much cooler than the boring rainbow "X" that JB uses now.

Install Boot Animations Manager. Then you can download and install your choice of dozens of animations. The ICS animation is available. I think the paid version allows you to create your own gif animations.

my phone is not rooted, so that won't help me. but I found a free live wallpaper of the ICS boot animation, which is all that I really wanted anyway. thanks for replying in any case...
