Update install fail

Hello;

I am posting this for a friend of mine.

He got an Atrix just the other day. Never installed any hacks (Like webtop that I read about on another post). Did not root or even attempt to root.

Today he got the message to install the OTA update. However he is now getting an error that says "Startup failed 2. Starting RSD mode".

Pulling battery and restarting phone takes it back to the same screen.

I am wondering if any else has had this problem and what steps can be used to correct it.

I have not had any experience with Motorola phones. I am usually over on the Evo forums.

Friend dropped off phone to me earlier. I finally got time to work on it and it was VERY easy to reflash the original file and once done do the OTA, which worked this time.

How did you do this i have a motorola atrix that failed too update i turn it on then it turns itself off and tries to update then gets 1/4 through the uodate and shows the exclamtion point with the android
