Why do my texts and messages post out of order on my GS4?

When I receive or send a texts or messages, they don't show up on my phone in the order they were sent or received and the times aren't accurate. I took my phone to 2 different AT T stores and at one, got an explanation (ie: guess) that it was caused by a software glitch that comes and goes randomly. I've had the phone since Oct. 2013 but this issue started only about 3 months ago. It hasn't resolved yet, getting worse. The other store had no answer, just suggested a master reset. I've always had Lookout on it and even tried several different antivirus, malware, spyware detectors to see if it was some sort of rogue bug. Mc Afee says it found an issue with photo editor, but it's not an app, so I'm not sure how to change that, or why it would affect messaging.

I had this problem but fixed it today after months of searching off and on.

The fix is actually simple - go into your date and time settings, and make sure "Automatic Date and Time" is checked. Mine was unchecked, so my phone was providing it's own time, which was out of sync with the network.
