Why is my galaxy 8 over heating

[AC Question]

My galaxy 8 N5110 keeps telling me it's over heating and shuts down all apps except phone and contacts. Even though I have just turned it on. The battery only lasts for about one hour before needs recharge. I have power saving on and it doesn't get heavy work. Do I need a new battery or is there something I can do.please help

A failing battery sounds like one possibility.

Welcome to Android Central! I agree with belodion. You'd need to bring it to a repair shop to get the battery replaced.
