Why is my Samsung Note 3 saying that it is charging but its draining?

why is my samsung note 3 saying that is charging but its draining?

A few hours ago my charging icon came on like it was charging however it was not plugged into anything.was weird so I took the battery out and put it back in and now while it is plugged in it says that it's charging but the percent I going down. How weird is that. Have tried several cords and outlets. Is it just the battery?

Hi

The battery has probably come to the end of its life cycle. I would try replacing....however, do this first: Enter Recovery Mode and do a wipe of the cache partition, worth a shot.
