Why is the lower portion of my Samsung Galaxy A71 not responding to touch?

[Android Central Question]

After discovering that my Samsung Galaxy A71's on-screen home, back, and recent buttons have stopped working, I went to the phone's diagnostic menu (*#0*#) to find that the bottom portion of my phone is completely unresponsive to touch. The rest of my phone's display responds to touch just fine, only the bottom portion containing the on-screen buttons do not. While I cannot press the buttons, however, they randomly, repeatedly press themselves. I have tried force restarting and going into Safe Mode to no avail, and hope that I can get this issue resolved without having to factory reset my phone. Does anyone have any ideas on what my phone's issue is, where it stems from, and how I can go about fixing it? Thank you!

I would be contacting Samsung support and if the phone is under warranty trying to get it repaired. Sounds like a hardware failure to me. If you are out of warranty you will have to find a local repair service to replace the screen for you.

If you have a screen protector try taking it off otherwise try factory reset before making a warranty claim.
