Why us my Sumsang galaxy Note 2 only on 2G yet it can also support 4G

My Galaxy Note 2 SHV E250L is always on G network mode which is very slow that it cant even send or receive a WhatsApp message yet my service providers have 4G and they told mi the phone is a 4G phone
