Another One Click Root Method Available [3/26]

I had tried the other method without success, but this one worked great for me. There were a couple minor hiccups, but nothing major. This is my first android, and I'm glad to have it rooted now :).

I was having trouble getting the Mac to recognize my phone. I just used this method today along with studying Cory's great Mac instructions and I am now finally rooted. It feels good to have all that crap off my phone finally.
Already tried it dont really like cuz you can't really go back its only forward.
What do you mean by that?

I posted this in the other thread too:

The first link ("You can download all the files needed here http://rom.galaxysense.com/thunderbolt/") brings me to a page with four links leading to nothing, and there are no prompts or anything from getting to the page. Shouldn't something be happening with it to get me started?

I was having a problem with all the links as well... even the one click root link. Try right clicking on the links and select..Open.

Awesome. Hard to believe I couldn't think of that myself... Wow.

Then since you're here, just download them all, and start the process? It'll guide me right through once I enter "y" correct?

Yep.. it's the same steps that are listed in Corys MAC instructions except there are no commands to enter... except for entering the path of where the SDK is stored on your computer. The rest will walk you right through it.

The exploits zip needs to be extracted and the files placed in the SDK folder where ADB is located.. its in the platform-tools folder. That's the path you need to copy. Should be something like .. C:/sdk/platform-tool

Edit: exploits zip.. not RUU.

What if the RUU_Mecha_VERIZON...zip isn't opening for me? I've re-DL'd it for the third time, and still not working.

Just came upon this in the 'program' box. I'll type out exactly what it says, and then explain why I see it as an issue, lol:

SDK Directory found
Checking build.prop ro.product.version
'adb' is not recognized as an internal or eternal command,
operable program or batch file.
If the above number ends in 605.6 or 605.9 then you can root,
IF NOT THEN YOU CANNOT ROOT USING THIS METHOD!!!
Do you wish to begin? (this process will wipe your phone), y or n?

Well It doesn't say a number at all. Does that mean I can't root? If that IS what it means... what do I need to change in order to allow myself rooting capabilities?

It looks like you might not have the batch file in the same folder as adb.exe or you may not have typed in the correct folder location.

What is the folder you have adb.exe in? Should be something like C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools

I don't have adb.exe anywhere in the SDK folder I DL'd. Where am I supposed to get it from, since they said all the needed files were in that link.

Follow these links from Cyber Warrior to install the SDK. The downloads they provided for the one-click root assume that you have all of that stuff setup already.

On your computer..
SDK..HTC Sync.. Java 3.0 download.. if you only need the SDK download.. the info is in the How to use link.
Android SDK Installer.exe

It won't open on your computer.. you need to rename it and put it on your phones SD card..and leave it zipped.
On your SD card rename: PG05IMG_downgrade.zip to PG05IMG.zip and start the One Click root. It will guide you through everything.
After the phone boots up for the first time.. skip the setup guide and you need to delete the first PG05IMG.zip that you renamed and replace it with the new PG05IMG.zip.
Make sure you turn on USB debugging and switch from PC mode to Mount as disc drive mode every time you reboot.

Saying that way was a little more helpful. It was never even mentioned that I needed to do anything but download those files. I got the SDK folder from dl.google.com... but I didn't know there was anything else to do with it. Thanks.
