I rooted my phone, and flashed the BAMF GingerRemix 2.1 w/ 2.5 radio. It was working great for about 2 weeks, until the other day. I went to bed, and when I woke up, 4g was gone. I waited a day or so to see if it came back, but to no avail. Well, I planned to head to the Verizon store to see if they could figure it out, so I flashed back to stock, still without 4g. I drove to the store and no sooner than I walked into the store, 4g was back (kinda like taking your car to the mechanic)... So obviously they were no help. They checked the setting and said everything looked correct. Anyway, I left and about 20 minutes later, 4g was gone again and has been gone since. My girlfriend came home and she has the Thunderbolt as well, and she was locked on 4g, while I was stuck with 3g. I called Verizon Tech support and they are supposedly sending someone in my area to check the tower, but if that was the problem, why would my g/f get 4g while sitting next to me?

Could the sim card be bad? I asked them about that and they said well, lets try this, lets try that... Other than that, the phone works fine. Wifi, phone, even 3g works fine, it's just the 4g.

Anyone?

According to some people, the 2.5 radio seems to prefer 3G in some situations. The good part is that in some areas you will be able to get and hold a 3G signal where the other radio(s) do not get a signal. In some areas you may also notice worse battery life. Go back to MR2 and I bet that your 4G will be back.

Thanks, Robrecht

Well, like I said before, I unrooted and returned it back to factory stock, so I don't think it's the radio. It should be back to the original radio that the phone shipped with, although admittedly I don't know exactly what I'm looking at on the Software information area of the phone to verify I'm 100% stock.

Most say to try both Radio's to see what works best for them... MR2.5 works good for me.... maybe it doesn't work for you... did you try loading MR2???

Yeah, when I first flashed GingerRemix 2.1, I had MR2 and it worked fine, but I wanted to try the MR2.5 and it worked just as well. I had NO problems the first 2 weeks, then the 4g dropped, while everything else still worked flawlessly. I'm back to factory stock now and still no 4g.
