wifi not working

im at my moms house and im trying to get on there wifi but its not coming up when i turn my wifi on in the settings it shows up in the wifi settings but i dont get it

If their wifi is a secure network, you will need the password/key.

I had this issue and returned my phone. For whatever reason, I could see any network that I had previously connected to, however I could not find any other networks in my area, I live is serious suburbia and every house has at least one network so I knew something was up. I tried various fixes and nothing worked. It did not matter, it always said it was trying to connect. I would call Verizon and see if they can help, but based only on my experience you need a replacement.
